How to opt out of PeekYou

Aggregates public profiles and social-media links under one name-searchable page.

Steps

  1. Go to peekyou.com and search your first and last name (optionally select your state from the dropdown) to locate your own profile listing.
  2. Open your profile and copy its URL/profile link, and note the city and state shown on it — you'll want these on hand for the opt-out form even if the form itself doesn't strictly require the link.
  3. Scroll to the footer of any PeekYou page and click 'Do Not Sell My Personal Information' (this goes to https://www.peekyou.com/about/contact/ccpa_optout/do_not_sell/).
  4. Fill out the opt-out form: first name, last name, email address, city/state (and paste your profile URL if there's a field for it), then complete the CAPTCHA.
  5. Check all of the consent/confirmation checkboxes on the form (guides report 4 checkboxes) and click Submit.
  6. Check the inbox of the email address you entered for a message from PeekYou and click the verification link inside it to confirm the request — the removal is not processed until you verify.
  7. Allow up to 48 hours to ~10-15 days for the listing to actually disappear from search results; if it's still up after 2 weeks, resubmit or email PeekYou's Legal Department (or mail: PeekYou, ATTN: Legal Department, PO Box 705, Ashburn, VA 20146) as a fallback.

Processing time: Sources vary: ~48 hours typical per PeekYou's own stated target, but guides commonly report up to 10-15 days in practice for the listing to actually vanish from search; PeekYou's general request response commitment (per one source) is within 30 days.

Worth knowing: PeekYou continuously re-scrapes public web/social data, so a removed profile can reappear later if new scraped data isn't matched against your prior opt-out — multiple independent sources (OneRep, DeleteMe) note this as a known recurring issue, not a one-time fix.
