How to opt out of Canada411

Canada's largest phone directory site — lists name, address, and phone from public directory listings.

Steps

  1. Go to canada411.ca/help.html?key=faq and find “How do I remove my listing?” in the FAQ.
  2. For web-only removal (fastest): click the removal-request link in that answer, fill in your full name, email, the phone number as listed, and a reason for removal, then complete the captcha and submit.
  3. For full removal — including print directories and Directory Assistance, not just the website — call your telephone provider and ask for an unlisted (non-published) number; some providers will email Canada411 directly for you, which is faster than the web form alone.
  4. Allow about 2 working days for the web-only removal to take effect; the telco route can take 1-2 months unless your provider emails Canada411 directly (then it's closer to 2 days).

Processing time: ~2 working days (web-only); 1-2 months via telco unless they email Canada411 directly

Worth knowing: This pulls from the same public directory-listing data your phone provider maintains, so if you ever re-list a published number with your provider, it can reappear here.
